A warm mug of Nutella coffee is dessert and your morning cup in one. The chocolate-hazelnut spread melts right into hot coffee for a café-style mocha you can make at home in about five minutes, no fancy machine required. Because trücup is low-acid, it stays smooth under all that sweetness instead of turning bitter, so every sip is rich and easy on your stomach.
Ingredients (makes 1 mug)
-
1 cup (8 oz) freshly brewed trücup low-acid coffee — medium or bold roast works best
-
2 tablespoons Nutella (or any chocolate-hazelnut spread)
-
½ cup milk of choice (dairy, oat, or almond)
-
Whipped cream, to top
-
Cocoa powder or chopped hazelnuts, for garnish
Instructions
-
Brew a strong cup of trücup low-acid coffee.
-
While it’s hot, add the Nutella and whisk until fully melted and smooth.
-
Warm the milk (30–45 seconds in the microwave, or steam it) and froth it if you like.
-
Pour the milk into the coffee and stir.
-
Top with whipped cream and a dusting of cocoa or chopped hazelnuts. Serve warm.
Tips
-
Want it iced? Whisk the Nutella into the hot coffee first, then pour over ice with cold milk.
-
For an extra-smooth mug, use our medium or bold roast — both stand up to the chocolate without any acidic bite.
